Asparagus
Asparagus should be grown on soils that are not compacted, have good drainage, and hold moisture well. Soil pH should be between 6.5 and 7.0. Asparagus is extremely susceptible to Fusarium root rot, the disease is caused by a fungus that will weaken the plant and reduce the crops yield.
Generally considered trouble free regarding pests, although in recent years greater populations of asparagus beetle are being found where adults and larvae feed on the stems and foliage of asparagus during the summer months.
